CHANGES FOR THE 2010 GNW100s
-
The first unmanned water
drop, which was previously 100m past Watagan Creek Road at
66.9km, has been moved to the top of the steep climb following
Watagan Creek Road at 68.3km. This has been done to make
it easier to set out the water dump and to retrieve any runners
forced to withdraw at this point (much faster 4WD access from
the next Checkpoint).
-
The format of the Detailed
Directions has been changed, but not the content.
-
There is a possibility, due
to closure by the State Education Department, that we may not
have access to Yarramalong Public School for Checkpoint 4/Finish
100km. If this happens, this Checkpoint will need to be
relocated somewhere else in Yarramalong. There are several
possible (inferior) options, though none has been pursued yet.
If a change becomes necessary, all race documentation available
on this website will be amended as necessary.
-
Runners and Pacers will be
issued with one (or maybe two) Tyvek wristbands to be worn
throughout the race that will carry their name and race number
and clearly identify, through the use of colour, which race they
are in, or if they are a Pacer.
-
The Presentation Ceremony, where small
awards will be made to the Male and Female Winners in both the
100 Kilometre and 100 Mile events, will be at 3:00pm on Sunday,
14 November 2010, at the Finish area for the 100 Mile in
Patonga.
